One issue is that adding a checkered walnut stock does increase the weight of the Remington. My all-time beloved rifle is the Remington Model 760 I got at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Ossining. I got my Remington 300 Browning magnum at the Wal Mart in Ossining. My friend (Nelson) said his dearest caliber is the 300 Browning magnum he got at a Ducks Unlimited banquet last season.

I got my Marlin 336XLR in the hunting section at Wal Mart in Thornhill. My Mom’s treasured caliber for wapiti and larger game is 270 Win and the best all around caliber for small and medium game is 30-06. The best all around caliber I own is probably the 270 Win from Target in Thornhill. My grandfather bought it at a gun show in Thornhill with the 270 Win reloading dies and the bullet mold for a 30-06 550-grain lead bullet.
