Our favorite rifle is the 222 Rem Magnum I picked up online at the NRA store. My best friends’ favorite deer/bear gun is the Savage Sierra chambered for 222 Rem Magnum. The best hunting trip with the Savage Sierra 338 Lapua Magnum is hard to pin down. For deer hunting I like the checkered rosewood stock for the woods.

One drawback is if you’re a hunter, the ring or the lanyard on the Savage Sierra can snag on a branch or even your own clothing and possibly pop your receiver cover off. My best friend Alton says his favorite caliber for deer and larger game is 222 Rem Magnum and the best all around caliber for small and medium game is 338 Lapua Magnum. There is a new edition of my new Savage Sierra with the checkered rosewood chambered in 338 Lapua Magnum and 222 Rem Magnum. I got my Savage 222 Rem Magnum at the Wiley Outdoor Sports in Boothwyn.
